The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) reports that residential home<\/span> sales in the <\/span>region totalled 3,687 in October 2020, a<\/span> 29 per cent <\/span>increase from the 2,858 sales recorded in <\/span>October 2019, and <\/span>a 1.2 <\/span>per cent increase from the 3,643 homes sold in<\/span> September 2020.<\/span>Last month’s sales were <\/span>34.7 per cent above the 10<\/span>-year <\/span>October<\/span> sales average and stands as the <\/span>second<\/span>-highest total on record for the month<\/span><\/p>\n

The MLS® Home Price Index composite benchmark price for all residential properties in Metro <\/span>Vancouver is currently $1,045,100. This represents a six<\/span> per cent increase<\/span> over Oc<\/span>tober 2019 <\/span>and a 0.4 per cent <\/span>increase compared to September 20<\/span>20.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sales of detached homes<\/span> in October 2020 reached <\/span>1,335, a 42.3 per <\/span>cent increase <\/span>from the 938 <\/span>detached sales recorded in October 2019. The benchmark price for <\/span>a detached home<\/span> is <\/span>$1,523,800. This represents a<\/span>n 8.5 per cent increase from October 2019 and<\/span> a 1.1 per cent <\/span>increase compared to September 2020.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sales of apartment homes<\/span> reached 1,570 in October 2020, a 13.4 per cent<\/span> increase compared to <\/span>the 1,384 sales in October 2019. The benchmark<\/span> price of an apartment property is $683,500. <\/span>This represents a 4.4 per cent <\/span>increase from October 2019 and is unchan<\/span>ged<\/span> compared to <\/span>September 2020.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Attached home<\/span> sales in October 2020 totalled 782, a 45.9 per cent<\/span> increase compared to the 536 <\/span>sales in<\/span> Oct<\/span>ober 2019. The benchmark price of an attached home<\/span> is $<\/span>813,000. This represents a <\/span>5.4 per cent increase from October 2019 and a <\/span>0.4 per cent increase compared to September <\/span>2020.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
