Regardless of whether you are looking for something for the whole family, or a peaceful solo escape...Port Coquitlam has you covered all summer long!

 

Farmers Market:

Running every Thursday (3-7pm) through the end of September at Terry Fox Hometown Square the market focuses on fresh and local. From locally grown vegetables/fruit, to homemade baking, and artisan-made goods...there is something for everyone. While you are there don't forget to check out the local stores (ILU's convenience store has great imported candy/drinks), or stop by the rec-centre.

Pride in Poco:

"Celebrate Pride in PoCo, an amazing celebration of LGBT2SQ+ communities with live music, crafts, food and community displays! This family-friendly event reflects our commitment to removing barriers and developing welcoming, inclusive and safe places for the City’s diverse populations, including the LGBT2SQ+ community and gender-diverse people. The event is organized with the involvement of Port Coquitlam’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Roundtable (EDI)."

Music in the Park:


This year Poco has three dates for residents to enjoy free concerts in Lions Park: July 22nd, July 29th, & August 12th. Each event runs from 2-5pm and features three unique artists representing a unique array of genres.

Artist-in-Residence Workshops:


This summer Poco is working with Sarah Hin Ching U to put on four workshops over two days; two for children 3-8 and two that are 18+.

About the artist: "Sarah Hin Ching U 余衍晴 (she/her) is a Chinese-Canadian emerging dance artist and choreographer whose movement practice is influenced by a plethora of styles including Latin Ballroom dance, contemporary dance, ballet and hip hop. Her main intention is to create performance experiences that are engaging, impactful, and community-oriented."

Where/When: July 21/28. Children's workshops run 4-5:30pm and the 18+ workshops are 6-7:30pm

Cinema Under the Stars:

Who doesn't like free outdoor movies! Three Saturday's spread over the summer featuring movies everyone will love. Bring blankets, bring snacks...its movie time.

Saturday, July 29 — 9:15pm: Evergreen Park — Jumanji: The Next Level
Sunday, August 20 —  8:45pm: Gates Park — Super Mario Bros. Movie
Saturday, August 26 — 8:45pm: Evergreen Park — Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 3

 

Spray Days:

"Come for a fun-filled afternoon with Port Coquitlam Community Police, Coquitlam RCMP, PoCo Fire, and Metro Vancouver Transit Police with water games, misters, and our PCCC spray park on site! There will also be fire truck and police vehicle displays."
