Last Minute Drop-In Activities In Maple Ridge

Are you looking for a way to spend a rainy after? Or something to fill a dark and dreary night?

Luckily for both Maple Ridge residents and those in the greater Tri City area, Maple Ridge has a slew of drop-in activites for all ages. Regardless of your interest, the day of the week, or the weather there are get up and go activities to fill your schedule.

 

Albion Community Centre (ACC):

The ACC is located at 24165 104 Av, and it is a 20,000 square foot centre with multi-use rooms, great hall, and an outdoor amphitheatre. In terms of drop-in activites it has two main catagories.

ACC Group Fitness:

Activities include: pilates, candlelit yoga, bidy weight burner, flow yoga, zumba, and power 45. Classes are offered five days a week with the exception of Fridays and Sundays. All levels of fitness are welcomed, and encouraged!

ACC Sport:

Activities include: badminton/table tennis, pickleball, and beginners pickleball. Classes are offered five days a week with the exception of Fridays and Saturdays.

Maple Ridge Leisure Centre:

Located: 11925 Haney Place.

Group Fitness:

Maple Ridge Leisure Centre offers a wide array of class, fourteen to be exact, seven days a week. From four different styles of yoga, to zumba, and low impact exercises...there is truly something for everyone.

Spin:

Three style of spin classes run five days a week, with the exception of Friday and Sunday: morning ride, cycle fit, and spin intervals.

Drop-in Gym:

The gym is open seven days a week with a one to two two-hour open gym segments everyday. The rest of the day's schedule is broken in to different sports and age groups.

Aquatic Centre:

 Located: 11925 Haney Place.

General Drop-in: 

The aquatic centre is is made up of three main pools (Competition Pool, Leisure Pool & Teach Pool) along with other amenities like a lazy river, waterfall, hot tub (accessible and all ages), sauna, steamroom and waterslide.

Fitness: 

Nine classes offered Monday-Friday include: Aqua Mild, Aqua Cadio/Strength, Making Waves, Aqua Zumba, Aqua-Beta, Aqua Yoga, Aqua Fit, Cardio Current, and Water Wellness.

Greg Moore Youth Centre (GMYC):

 Located: 11925 Haney Place.

Overview:

The centres goal is to connect wit as many youth from the greater communiy as possible, and they have been doing so for over 20 years. The goal is to provide a safe, fun supervised recreation environment for youth 13Y-18Y to participate in a variety of activities.

Their aim is to have something for everyone: 

"Whether you’re interested rock climbing/bouldering, skateboarding, scootering, basketball, foosball, ping pong, billiards, air hockey, board games, Nintendo Switch or PS5, we are open every day at the GMYC and are here to connect with youth."

  • Sun-Thurs | 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Fri & Sat | 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Planet Ice Skating:

 Located: 23588 Jim Robson Way

Parent and Tot Skate:

This is a skate for parents/guardians with children 6 years & under. Some toys, skating aids and other interactive equipment will be on the ice. Offered Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Public Skate:

General skating open to the public seven days a week with two session Monday-Friday and a family session on Sundays.

$2 Value Skate:

Everyone is welcome for $2 on statutory holidays!
